Sunday Night Soldiers
Today is an awesome day! Of course, every Lord’s Day is special but today is a special day as we are kicking off our Sunday Night Soldiers program tonight at 5pm. For those of you who may not be aware, Sunday Night Soldiers is a program designed to help our kids and teens prepare for Lads to Leaders. We will work each week on different convention events as well as teach them about the Bible through year-round events like Centurion of Scripture, Know the Books, and Bible Bowl.

Camp David
Starting Sunday September 1st, we will begin a new Sunday school program for our Christian Soldiers group in grades K5 through 6th called Camp David. This will be a fun and exciting program that we hope will not only encourage and help our kids grow but also will get them exited for Bible class. The program will be like a VBS style of learning, with a story room, craft room, game room and a theater room. The kids will be split into two different age brackets, with kindergarte

Studying the Bible
For the month of June, our theme has been Bible study. One of my favorite things about studying the Bible is that no matter how many times you read it you learn something new. Even those of us that may be more familiar with scripture can still learn something every time we read it. I was recently studying for our Sunday morning teen class on the book of Hebrews when I noticed something that made me stop and think. The main theme of Hebrews is that Christ’s law is better than

Vacation Bible School 2024
Good morning, Church family! What an amazing week of VBS we had! I cannot thank all of you enough for all your hard work to make VBS 2024 a success! It was so awesome to watch God work this week in the lives of all our “little” visitors. I know that all the kids and parents that attended were blessed by it. After it was all over, I started thinking about how Jesus tells us in Mathew 18:3-4 “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you w

The Way
Wow! What a great week we had at Gulf Coast Bible Camp two weeks ago! God was present in every camper and counselor there. We had five baptisms including our own Lauren Tucker and another from our group that went, Samantha Uteg. Praise God for that! Our theme this year at camp was “The Way”. Each day we learned how we can listen, trust, follow, and share the Way, which is Jesus. I pray that as we come back to “the real world” we will continue to follow Christ and God’s perfec

Hit the RESET Button
What an awesome week we had at camp! God was truly felt there, and I know that our group grew in spirit and truth. We had so much fun, but man am I exhausted. There are times as Christians we get burnt out and we need to recharge. When we feel that way physically, we rest. Well, it’s hard for us sometimes to “rest” in our spiritual walk. When we feel overwhelmed by life’s daily grind, we need to take time to recharge. Just taking ten or fifteen minutes alone with God in praye

Time for GCBC
Today we will leave for camp! Camp is a wonderful time and often it presents so many opportunities to grow closer to each other and to God. Oftentimes, when we attend an event like this, we feel like we are on top of the mountain and can take on Satan all by ourselves. However, when we get back, we often experience a drop in our enthusiasm. That is why it is so important for us as Christians to encourage each other. Events like camp are so uplifting but as God’s church we sho

Senior Sunday 2024
Today is Senior Sunday. We are so proud of our five seniors, Gisela, Haley, Hayleigh, Stevie, and Roshad! We pray for their success in their future endeavors but more importantly we pray that they will continue to grow in their faith. As we all enter different chapters in our lives, we have choices to make. Everyday we must make choices. We choose what we will eat for breakfast, what we will wear, or what we will do that day. Joshua, in Joshua 24 offers a challenge to the Isr

Mother's Day 2024
Today is Mother’s Day so I would like to say “Happy Mother's Day” to all the mothers! We are so blessed with so many great examples of motherhood in this congregation. The ladies here at Summerdale, are such great role models for our young women and girls in this congregation. When I think of the examples in the Bible of Godly Mothers, the first one that comes to mind is Moses’s mother. Although we do not know her name, we know that she trusted the Lord and hid Moses so he wo

Let My People Go
Wednesday, in the teen class, we started a series looking at the ten plagues of Egypt found in Exodus. As the story goes, God told Moses to go before Pharaoh and tell him “Let My people go!”. Every time Pharaoh would agree at first but then harden his heart and make the people stay in Egypt. Each time God would bring another plague until finally following the death of the first-born Pharaoh finally relented and let the children of Israel go. But even after that he changed his
