Why Bible Class Matters

One of the greatest blessings we have as Christians is access to God’s Word. The Bible is how God speaks to us. It’s where we learn who He is, what He’s done, and how He calls us to live. But the truth is, the Bible isn’t always easy to understand, especially for kids and young people who are just starting their faith journey.
That’s why Bible class matters.
Our Sunday morning and Wednesday night classes aren’t just something extra, they’re an essential part of spiritual growth. They provide an environment where our kids can ask questions, build friendships, and dig deeper into God’s Word in a way that makes sense for their age and stage of life. It’s where the seeds of faith are planted—and watered.
The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Bible class is one of the ways we do that. And it’s not just for the kids. Our teens, our adults, everyone needs the Word, and we all benefit from growing together.
Parents, I want to encourage you: make Bible class a priority. When you make it a priority for your children, you’re also making it a priority for yourself. Your example teaches them that time in God’s Word matters—not just for kids, but for the whole family. When they see your excitement and consistency, they get excited too. It builds healthy spiritual habits. And the truth is, you’ll be fed as well. There’s something powerful about learning and growing alongside your children, it strengthens your faith while helping to grow theirs.
Let’s be a church that values the Word and values the classroom. Let’s keep showing up, digging in, and growing together.
And always remember—you are loved.
Eric
