What Is Truth?

We live in a world that is desperately searching for answers. People are asking big questions about life, identity, purpose, and eternity—but they’re getting a hundred different answers depending on where they look. We hear phrases like “live your truth” or “truth is whatever you make it,” but that’s not truth at all—it’s confusion.
The question Pilate asked Jesus in John 18:38 still echoes today: “What is truth?” And the answer hasn’t changed. Truth is not a feeling. It’s not a trend. Truth is found in the unchanging Word of God.
Jesus said in John 17:17, “Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.” God’s Word doesn’t shift with culture. It doesn’t evolve to match opinion. It stands firm—offering clarity in a world that’s clouded with noise.
And here’s the good news: people are still hungry for truth. They’re searching. They’re seeking. And we have the answer—not because we’re smarter or better, but because we’ve been given God’s truth through His Word. The Bible doesn’t just tell us what’s right and wrong. It shows us who God is, who we are, and what we were made for.
As Christians, we need to speak the truth—but also live it. We need to raise our kids to recognize it, to love it, and to stand on it even when it’s not popular. Because truth isn’t something we create. It’s something we follow.
Let’s be people of the Word. Let’s be people of truth. And let’s show the world that while opinions change and feelings fade, God’s truth remains forever.
Always remember—you are loved.
Eric
