The In-Between

This past weekend we took three of our teens to the FUEL youth retreat at Gulf Coast Bible
Camp. It was a fantastic weekend, and I know that they were blessed by being there. This year’s
theme was “the between”. We studied the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus but focused
specifically on the Saturday between the two events. Scripture does not give us much
information of what went on during that time, but our focus was on the emotions of the Apostles
and what they were going through. One of the things that stuck with me was that they were
experiencing an abundance of different emotions. They experienced grief, anger, anxiety,
sadness, and loneliness. Those are all things that we experience every single day in our Christian
Walk. In a way, we are going through our own “in between” period. Christ died and three days
later He rose again. He then went to prepare a place for us as He told us he would do in John
14:3. He promised us that He would return and take us with Him. So, we are “in between” those
two powerful resurrections. The one where He rose from the dead, proving He was the Son of
God and the one where we will be resurrected as a new being to go to Heaven with him. Like the
Apostles we are going to experience many different emotions, but “Sunday” is coming. We are
going to struggle and be unsure of what is next, but “Sunday” is coming. Praise God “Sunday” is
coming! I pray we always remember however dark our “Saturday” is, “Sunday” is coming, and it
is going to be a glorious day! Always remember you are loved!
