This year our theme for the youth group is “Set Apart.” We are using I Peter 2:9 for our theme verse, which says “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

God calls us to be different than the rest of the world. We are called to talk differently, act differently, have different relationships, and be set apart from the world. However, just because we are called to be different than the world does not mean that we are supposed to hide from it. Jesus calls us a light set on a hill. This means that everyone around us can see our light and is drawn to it. Being “set apart” means that we shine our light so brightly that the rest of the world can’t help but see it and want to be apart of it! May God bless you this week as you strive to set apart from the world while shining your light in it! You are so very much loved!

Eric
