Adam & Eve

Today our Christian Soldiers group studied Genesis Chapter 2, where God puts man in the Garden of Eden and gives him charge of all of His creation. Adam went on to tend the garden and name all of the animals. However, something was off. When Adam looked around every animal had been made both male and female, but there was no companion for Adam. God noticed this and said in verse 18, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him”. Of course, we know that God put Adam into a deep sleep, took out a rib and then fashioned Eve from Adams side, symbolizing that Women should be there next to Man while they help each other through life. It is so important today with the confusion in the world that God created man and women for each other. It was never His intention for us to go through life alone. He knew we needed another to help us through all of life’s struggles. That is also why it is so important that our kids learn to find a Godly mate that can help them spiritually as well. From the very beginning it was God’s will that man and women become one and have the same type of unity that God had with them in the garden. I hope we can always remember that we shouldn’t try to go it alone. I am so grateful for all of the wonderful examples of Godly marriages here at Summerdale that are such an encouragement to me and our kids. Parents keep up the great work and always remember you are loved!
