The Greatest Gift

This time of year, much of the world turns its attention—at least briefly—to the birth of Jesus. While there’s no biblical evidence that Jesus was born in December, we as Christians should embrace this season as an opportunity to talk about the greatest gift mankind has ever received: Christ Himself.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” God didn’t send Jesus to earth just to be celebrated as a baby in a manger. He sent Him to be our Savior, to rescue us from sin, to walk among us, and to give His life so that we could be made new.

In a world full of shopping lists, decorations, and distractions, this season gives us a unique chance to redirect the conversation—to talk to our kids, our neighbors, and our friends about what really matters. The message of Jesus isn’t just seasonal—it’s eternal.

This is also a great time to teach our children that Jesus is more than a holiday symbol—He is the foundation of our faith. The gift of Christ wasn’t wrapped in paper but in purpose. He came to bring peace, hope, and salvation to a broken world—and that message is worth sharing every day of the year.

So as the world around us reflects—however imperfectly—on Jesus’ birth, let’s take this opportunity to reflect on His mission. Let’s live with gratitude. Let’s speak with boldness. Let’s give like people who have been given everything.

Because the greatest gift we’ve ever received… is Christ.

Always remember—you are loved.

Eric
