Back to the Basics – Living It Out

Over the past month, we’ve looked at some of the most important foundations of our faith—prayer, Bible study, worship, and service. These aren’t just things we do to check off a list. They are essential habits that help us grow closer to God and more like Jesus every day. But now comes the real challenge: putting it into practice.
It’s one thing to know why we pray. It’s another to make prayer a part of our daily lives. It’s one thing to say the Bible is important. It’s another to open it, read it, and let it change our hearts. The same goes for worship and service. These are not one-time actions—they are ongoing rhythms of the Christian life.
James 1:22 reminds us to “be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” If we want to grow as individuals and as a church family, we have to be intentional about living out what we believe—not just on Sundays, but every day of the week.
As we move into September, we’re going to focus on faith in action. What does it look like to live your faith at school, at work, at home, or in your community? How do we become the hands and feet of Jesus in a world that desperately needs Him?
My prayer is that we continue to grow—not just in knowledge, but in action. That we don’t settle for surface-level faith, but go deeper. And that we teach our kids not just to know what’s right, but to live it with boldness and love.
Let’s stay rooted. Let’s stay focused. And let’s keep putting our faith into motion.
Always remember—you are loved.
Eric
