More Than Enough

A few weeks ago we started a series on Wednesday nights entitled “Built Different.” In it, we are exploring why we are called to be different than the rest of the world. This past Wednesday we looked at “When You Do Not Feel Enough.” In the passage found in Colossians 2:9–10, Paul explains that our worth is found in Christ. When the world tells us we need the promotion, or those friends, or that particular relationship, the Bible says that Christ is enough.

Paul says, “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him…” That is a powerful statement. Jesus is not “part God” or a good teacher. He is fully God. And because we are in Him, we are not lacking what truly matters. We may still have goals, dreams, and things we work toward, but our identity is not hanging on those things. We do not have to earn our worth. We do not have to chase validation. We are complete in Christ.

This is especially important for our youth. They face constant comparison and pressure from every direction. Social media tells them they are only valuable if they look a certain way, have certain friends, make certain grades, or live a certain lifestyle. That kind of pressure can wear on a young heart. It can make them feel like they are always behind, always trying to measure up, and never truly enough.

But the Gospel tells a different story. Being a Christian is enough. It is the greatest moniker they could ever have. No title, no pay scale, no accomplishment can ever compare to being called a child of God. When young people truly believe that it changes how they live. It gives them confidence, stability, and peace, not because life is perfect, but because their identity is secure.

Church family let’s help our kids and teens believe this message. Let’s speak life into them. Let’s encourage them. Let’s remind them that their value is not found in what they achieve, but in who they belong to. And if you are an adult who feels the weight of “not enough” too, remember this truth applies to you as well. In Christ, you are complete.

Always remember, you are loved.

Eric
